Frequent Questions

We understand that no two jobs are the same and that customers will have questions. We have done our best to list some of the most common questions and answers below.

Roofing takes a day or two to remove the existing roof and put on a new one. If you have interior damage, we do those repairs after the roof is completed and may take a few days more. Gutters are also installed after the roof is completed and takes 2-4 hours.

Absolutely! Whirlwind Roofing & Construction offers a 5-year labor warranty on roof replacements and 1-year labor warranty on construction projects. Shingle and other material manufacturers offer their own warranty, typically starting at 25 years for defects, etc.

Whirlwind Roofing & Construction was founded in March 2016 but we have been in the construction business “forever.” Owner Dave Laizure started at the age of 7 sweeping floors in his grandfather’s lumber yard and at age 14, starting earning an adult wage roofing houses with his father’s construction company.

Definitely! We will meet with your insurance company’s adjuster to make sure all necessary items are included to repair or replace your roof properly. We’ll make sure the adjuster looks at items such as screens, gutters, fencing, etc. which may otherwise be overlooked. Then, we will work within your insurance company’s scope (estimate) to do the work, supplementing if necessary.

Xactimate is the software used by insurance companies to determine the cost to repair your home after a hail storm, wind storm, etc. It is extremely complicated and very hard to use, which the insurance companies use to their advantage. Owner Brooke Laizure has top Level 3 Certification, and is one of only a handful of contractors in the entire State of Oklahoma with this certification. Why is this such a big deal? It’s important because Whirlwind Roofing can go to bat with industry knowledge and the insurance company’s own tools to make sure you are getting everything you deserve to ensure your roof is replaced or repaired to its pre-storm condition.

Sometimes things are missed by an adjuster. But more often, there are hidden “surprises” that can only be found once your roof has been started. For instance, older houses may have board planking instead of decking, excessive gaps between boards, or code violations. We will take care of any supplements needed to complete your job.

No. Insurance companies usually pay with two checks. The first check gets the work started. The second check is issued when the work is completed. Note: If you have a mortgage company, they will need to endorse those checks. No worries, we’ll be there to walk you through the process.

No, we can’t absorb your deductible. It’s illegal and any contractor offering to do so is committing insurance fraud and endangering the homeowner. The insurance deductible is the responsibility of the insured, and the contractor should reflect that in the quote without inflating the estimate to cover all or part of the deductible. But, we understand that $1,000 or more out of pocket can be tough. That’s why we accept credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Discover, and American Express) and offer 6-month interest free installment payments to ease the burden of coming up with your deductible money all at once.
