Before you get stuck signing a contract, please understand that this unethical practice among disreputable roofing contractors has led insurance companies to include warnings in their homeowners policies. For example, here is the wording in Whirlwind Roofing owner’s personal home insurance policy:
“Hail/Windstorm Deductible: This policy contains a separate deductible, different than your Section I deductible, for windstorm or hail losses. This may result in a higher out of pocket expense if a loss occurs due to windstorm or hail. Your deductible will be listed with your Standard Policy in the Policy Deductibles section.
WARNING: Any person who knowingly, and with intent to injure, defraud or deceive any insurer, makes any claim for the proceeds of an insurance policy that contains any false, incomplete or misleading information is guilty of a felony.”
So, no. We can’t absorb your insurance deductible.
